factory farming

I feel so much better now that i don’t eat meat after watching this video:

This is a video clip based on the cruelty of factory farming and the advantages of going back to the old family farming. The factory farms are still businesses which treat animals like product and eventually slaughter them. Thats so sad how can people make a living doing this, its horable i nearly cryed, we have to stop doing this so in this way PETA came into existence. And there by they took many actions to not to treat the animals like a machines. It’s hard to imagine them cutting corners to make an extra money , that includes the human treatment of animals (or the workers, for that matter).

if we search in PETA in YouTube. the video name “Disgusting” that video shows China’s cruelty to animals, dogs and cats stuffed into small cages as if they were just merchandise. Later on, these animals were killed and their fur torn away to be sold for coats. and they get more money for that but how can they get the life of that animals.
not only in other coutries even in our country ,near our college we have a some farms which are used for the meat and chicken. they all the farm animals which thay keep them food for many days and when theey bacome to fat they sell all the body parts for he money sake.

And if we come to the hen farms they are not even breeded naturally and they keep their eggs on the some heat like thing and they produce chicks from electricity method. and they produce every thing artificialy which are not good for health. and comming to meat ,the cows are like lord krishna’s animal so we call cow as “gomatha” . and it is very much traditional to us. In kerala and tamilnadu some people eat cows and so they should think of the life which they are eatting. This isn’t about trying to convert the world into vegetarians, it’s about making informed purchases about where your food came from. Cows, chickens, pigs, and lamb are all living creatures, and like humans have a short time on this earth, they should be treated with respect and not put through agony and beaten every day of their lives.

Instead of having all these things it’s better to stop meat , protect animals from factory farming and do save even the life of an animals.

And a small quatation from the Anil kumble dairy “Vegetarianism saves animals’ lives and can’t be beat for maintaining a muscular body and building endurance. Vegetarian food contains all the vitamins and protein you need to be at your best and is free of all the fat, cholesterol and toxins found in meat.”

Make a echo friendly nature by not encouraging the factory farms.

billion beats : a pivotal role in taking india forward.

The e-papers launched  by Dr A P J Abdul Kalam takes on a new role, being editor of an online newspaper called “Billion Beats.”  He has chosen the occasion of children’s day to launch his new venture. And which  helps  indians stay connected by sharing news and capabilities and inspire youth to dream big and help the forward generations and plays a pivotal role in taking  india forword . The paper will showcase success stories of India’s achievers. It will marched ahead with a mission and vission.

I have read all the e-papers , it’s great to see a news paper without negative news. All of them are good and provoking but my  favorate article is right the first issue which  was written by a 8th class student. In which she mentioned about the the basic idea or the discipline a citizen should have .  Even though the issue is only the 1 page it matters the every thing here  because when we have the discipline and lack of consideration to others we will know what to do and how to do in varies aspectes of life. As she told we need some comon discipline  to move  in public. With this disciplane no one might have issued this many articles. when we go on roads even we see some students go fast on bike without  considering to others who walk on road  and they horn like factory machinary sounds,  even they wont stop to even a red siginal is put on . for this all kind of behavior we can see even in our college near vallikavu. The students who has bike they go harshly and dash to some one ( they hit me to). Is it nessecary to behave like that ?, so it should come from oneself , by individual to have such disciplane. As we all are lacking some intiation and motivation, its a great pleasure for having this billion beats as its the heart beat of all Indians.Every one just bothers about oneself rather than thinking about others.so,I feel this is one of the starting steps to see India as the no. one . And the other article is the  issue 6 it is also almost like the first one in which  a article about don’t spitt on roads  and most beautiful poem by astha wadhwani from mumbai. she wrote in the poetic manner to discribe the nature how is getting off. and she specifies about worth, how  forest are getting deforrested, and even nature raises the price of  flight, music which is  from the birds is beutiful and melodies.and so like this article beacuse she as mentioned about the nature which getting spoiled now adays . Alothough she is 5th class she expressed her feeling how the nature is getting spoiled.

And finally, Against every negative done every day there are many many more positives events every day; thought, said or done, by common men and women. These do not sell. It is taken for granted. We need a Abdul Kalam to wake us up. and this billion beats  are the pulse of India

Kiran Bedi : Pride of India

Kiran bedi is first and highest ranking indian woman internationally recognized of indian police service. I came to know about kiran bedi in the class of 10th in 2005 when she got the Mother Teresa award for social justice. And she is one of the most famous woman police officer in india. And her social activism has brought out enormous change in how we view the police and government. she is 60 years old and now at present she is director general of BPR&P. At her young age she is tennis player and she even represented india in some of tournaments. Eventhough she is 60 still she is working dynamically under the government of india. And she also won many awards in social work and etc…and still now no individual woman has got that many awards and she is model for our present youth. And for her bio-data visit site http://www.kiranbedi.com and she has even blog http://kiran-bedi.blogspot.com

I came to know her work and contribution to our country from our CCR classes in the first year. In ccr classes they showed us a documentry movie on her innovative idea to conduct yoga classes to prisoners to change their attitude and behavier. It is about the prisoners who are in Delhi jail. She is the only one who thought of the prisoners life. She made an arrangement in prison to have yoga classes. At first only some prisoners intrested to join the yoga classes . And one day in delhi they have heavy rains and the place for yoga classes had been distroyed and at time the prisoners helped her to make the place clean and having the yoga classes. And it is at that time the change in prisoners shown after then many prisoners started to attend the classes. And then many of them changed them self by having self control over there mind from yoga. she as asked the gov. to release the 10 prisoners on every august 15th and by which she as changed the life of prisoners. And due to this she even got an award. In this way if we go on she as contributed to soceity alot of things.

This is the first time a person who thought of a prisoners life still now no leader , no freedom fighter took that action. And she as compleatly changed the thoughts of the people about police. And she has given the basement to the future generation. She has inspired me in that, like at her studies if we see the generation the woman education is very less and that to she became a police officer. Even a movie is taken on here by name yesmadamsir taken by the australian director.

1.1billion souls have three medals

The population of india is 1.1 billion  and we have totaly three medals and do we call this a success? no way? The results are the outcome of individual performance, sweat and blood,  I don’t think the government had any vision in last 4 years to be successful in Olympics.  Our leaders must learn from China and other countries and it is high time for us to think and do something  and the  present situation in our country is like this   “ India   is  only place in the world where one is encouraged, cherished and respected to sit and do nothing!!!!” .

India is unable to produce  more representatives  like the other country who’s population is almost comparable like china(639) ,and us only 57 and this is not a camparable members . the countries  like   USA(595), Australia(433), great Britain(313), Russia(467), Germany(439) etc.. have more representatives . The  poverty countries like jamaica produced  56 rep. and and we are equal to them . Very small country in  the world vietnam produced 21 rep.

India can sustain Beijing success and more. Just imagine all who reached quater-finals and semi-finals etc. can reach final, and convert to Gold and silver and many more can come in Boxing, Wrestling, archery, Weightlifting, Gyms, racing , swimming etc why not. India is and should be good for at least 10 Golds, 10 Silver and 10 Bronze medals.  Why not, we don’t have Youth, we don’t have time, what is short is managing agents. For all statasticsclick here

what’s the reason behind this ?. why india is  not having that much efficient to have more people into olympics ?. We  sent 57 people but why they are not efficient to get a gold medal (or any medal )?. according to me it’s the fault of  the parents who  discourages the students  from the primary level to leave the games and just to concentrate on their studies. even the most educated parents doesn’t want their children to enter the field of sports. How many people encourage their children to go for even a morning walk?  THEN HOW IS THE LEVEL OF SPORTS GOING TO RISE IN INDIA? . We need to get more schools involve in sports and physical competition to have any impact on sport in the future . sport must be made complusory in every school, college, university, community, villages etc… India  could train the children from their schooling (say from third standard for Olympics and also government should organize a separate committee to scrutinize this and make this work. This would place India in the top position in the upcoming Olympics.

The other reason is  gov. of  India . Besides shooting(only bindra) India has’nt performed exclusively in any other sports….hockey team did’nt qualify this time ,  but still officials are not interested in taking any serious action. The condition of other sports are bad too. The government must encourage the athletes and give them financial support for training and support their family while they are training. Indian players have the capabilities of getting the medals at evey competitions but the govt. of india have  to give all the best facilities to all the players . And the  Central Government should not do any politics in the selection it could effect over performence in olympics . For our bad luck in those three medals we don’t have a single medal from womens  regarding this the gov. should take some action to have more medals from women also.

INDIA can surely win in 2012 but Sprots Authority in India should prepare players , provide them with right diet chart, infrastructure & skills required to bag the GOLD….!!!! Also they should search & train people in more number of sports played in Olympics. Then only we can expect increase in the number of medals in 2012. We can sustain in next Olympics only if we train our athletes to the standards of other top nations.

A  small suggestion :We can even allot funds to get foreign coaches and to improve the games in which we are not up to the world standards.

finally……..india can achieve more than what we have achieved in this olympics and we have to appreciate abhinav for his achievement and all the best for every athlete and i hope they bring more medals for us.

world environment day

world environment day

world environment day

World Environment Day (WED) was established by the UN General Assembly in 1972 to mark the opening of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment.

Commemorated yearly on 5 June, WED is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action. The day’s agenda is to:

  1. Give a human face to environmental issues;
  2. Empower people to become active agents of sustainable and equitable development;
  3. Promote an understanding that communities are pivotal to changing attitudes towards environmental issues;
  4. Advocate partnership which will ensure all nations and peoples enjoy a safer and more prosperous future.

The theme for WED 2009 is ‘Your Planet Needs You-UNite to Combat Climate Change’. It reflects the urgency for nations to agree on a new deal at the crucial climate convention meeting in Copenhagen some 180 days later in the year, and the links with overcoming poverty and improved management of forests.

This year’s host is Mexico which reflects the growing role of the Latin American country in the fight against climate change, including its growing participation in the carbon markets.

Mexico is also a leading partner in UNEP’s Billion Tree Campaign. The country, with the support of its President and people, has spearheaded the pledging and planting of some 25 per cent of the trees under the campaign. Accounting for around 1.5 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions, the country is demonstrating its commitment to climate change on several fronts.

Mexican President Felipe Calderon states that the WED celebration will “further underline Mexico’s determination to manage natural resources and deal with the most demanding challenge of the 21st century – climate change.”

smoking kills

Now a days the most common problem in our society is about the health . The health problems are mainly due to the tobacco products…  mostly smoking .

It may give relif  for a moment but has  adverse effects on them and more over it effects even the  people around them . It  also effects our environment. The inahalation of  smoke released while consuming tobacco products causes many dangerous diseases and acts as slow poisoning . Directly or indirectly millions of people lost their life just because of smoking .

The bussiness on tobacco now a days it has become so popular and they have lot profit to them and they are not thinking of the common people who gets effected by their products. The bussiness deals with the tobacco  products may acquries  millions of profit and can provide employment but despite  of all these secondary things it effects the basic primary need  i.e.  health of a common man. and due to these all conditions  in 1987 WHO came forword and created the new agenda for the no tobacco and so the day ( may 31th) is considered as the world no tobacco day.

World Health Organization created World No Tobacco Day in 1987 with the purpose of sensitising the largest possible number of people on the risks of consuming tobacco and its by-products. The effects of smoking on human health are serious and in many cases deadly.

Effects of smoking due to it’s chemicals…

They are approximately 4000 chemicals in cigarettes,200 of them poisonous and 60 of them carcinogens. The ingredients in cigarettes effect organs of our body’s immune system and the effect of cigarette smoking are destructive and harmful. The toxic ingredients like nicotine, carbon monoxide,carcinogens,etc.. causes many effects on our body. They cause like  cancers, alsors, breathing problems etc…

chemicals in Cigarette

so we are aware of the type & number of diseases that are caused due to smoking just like lung cancer, throat cancer, heart attack, holes in heart, mouth cancers etc … And we know that these cancers will not be shown in the starting stages and they will be exposed near end stages so we should be so carefull of these tobacco  products and  even the small kids started to smoke .Suppose a boy started to smoke at the age of 13 or 14  and think of his condition at the age of 30…and it’s better not to allow a person who smoke in public places  and we can say prevention is better than cure  there by it’s better to follow this and you can Add colour to your life

finally…   U  stop smoking other wise life will   stop U .

chicken a la carte : forgotten portion of the society

This movie is really touching.and what bring me into tears is that they are happy and thankful with what they have more than we do.
This film is about the hunger and poverty brought about by Globalization. There are 10,000 people dying everyday due to hunger and malnutrition. This short film shows a forgotten portion of the society. The people who live on the refuse of men to survive. What is inspiring is the hope and spirituality that never left this people.
If we observe this flim at end we see the expression of a little boy when here mom takes the waste food from the cover and the father telling not to eat the food with out praying to god these to movements are really touching .

This is extremely touching. when the little boy’s eyes were popping out at the sight of some old noodles. Now I feel like a spoil myself WAY too much.we think that we don’t have this and that but there are people who don’t have nothing to eat those are the poor.we have to be thankful for everything we have in life and help those who are in need .Even if we listen to the song ’s lyrics ‘re very meaningful. After we’ve seen , can we close the eyes again ? ….

This is not about countries, or wars, this is about stand up and try to help each other, the one who is beside us, everyone of us know someone in need, in the freeway, or in the stop, or in the lights, its time to start to help.

Lead India-history is turning a page

The ‘Lead India’ reality show was started as part of the ‘Lead India’ campaign, with the idea of ‘helping India choose the right leader’ and was launched on August 15 (India’s Independence Day), 2007.

when Times of India launched its Lead India initiative to find new leaders from the educated urban class, the paper used to be flooded with the Campaign. There were nominations.

Its prelude was an initiative called ‘India Poised’6, which ToI launched on January 1, 2007, with a series of print ads and a TV commercial. These thought-provoking ads sought to make the people of India think about whether the country could stand up to the expectations of the world.

The second phase of the ‘Lead India’ campaign started in August 2007 with a series of print ads in newspapers titled ‘Do’ featuring the popular Hindi film actor Shah Rukh Khan.7 The ads asked the people what they would do if they were the leaders of the country.

Those who thought it to be a great opportunity to do something for the country were asked to fill an online application form. There was a huge response to the campaign with nearly 34,000 applications being received from all over the country.

Out of these applications, around 64 suitable candidates were selected and put through a rigorous selection process that included group discussions, personal interviews, and debates to test their leadership traits. From among them, eight finalists representing different cities were chosen.

There were 8 short listed candidates, there were 3 finalists and finally a winner from 8 Indian cities. I am not sure how they short listed only these 8 cities, they might have published criteria, but in my opinion it has east under represented and west over represented.
All the 8 candidates are well educated, have achievements to talk about and a will to do something difference, intent to be the change agent. And until this campaign discovered them, they were all busy doing something that demonstrates their leadership capabilities and an ability to lead. In a nut shell these are apparently the kind of people who India today needs to come forward and make a difference that is much larger than the one that they are making today.
As we know our politicians are having a famous slogan like this…(When people try to escape the ‘Darkness’ in India with honesty and putiry in heart and mind, they are only forced back down again like chickens in a Rooster Coop.) and this should not be like this.
And because of this lead india campaign the India’s history is turning a page.
